PEKING DUCK & FLAMING POT PROMOTION @ ZUAN YUAN, One World Hotel

With the Chinese New Year feasting all behind us, don’t even think, for a moment that the dining scene has tamed. To keep the momentum going, new food promotions are constantly launched. One of the latest promotions that caught my eye and appetite is the “Crispylicious Peking Duck” and Flaming Hot Pot in Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant at One World Hotel. Both happen to be on my favourites list and are available only till 31 March 2017.

The Peking Duck needs no introduction. Right-sized ducks, balanced marination, controlled roasting temperature – these are just some of the laborious processes that go into roasting the perfect Peking duck. Crispy skin and succulent meat – those are the ultimate desired results.

The knife must be very sharp!

At Zuan Yuan, the chefs have got it right and I enjoyed a few parcels of the crispy duck skin wrapped with cucumber, spring onions and goose liver sauce in pieces of thin Chinese pancakes.

Once all the golden-hued skin have been consumed, the duck meat is then sliced up and cooked in various ways – saute’ed with assorted vegetable, fried with egg noodles or just simply wok-fried with black pepper or spring onion and ginger. Ours went into a fried rice – a dish that’s delightfully aromatic and appetizing.

The Peking Duck is priced at RM98 nett per duck and is available for lunch and dinner in the month of March 2017.

 

The chilly and rainy weather of late, especially in the evenings, is just perfect for some hotpot. Zuan Yuan’s version offers a tasty nutritious broth which pairs very well with the selection of fresh meat, seafood and vegetables.

The freshest and tastiest live seafood go into the hotpot!

The hotpot set comes with live tiger prawns, live sea clams and garoupa fillets. I enjoyed the house-made balls more – the squid balls, fish balls, prawn balls, fishpaste with beancurd skin and fish noodles were all super fresh with the most amazingly sweet flavours. Oh there’s also the house-made dumplings, chicken slices and several choices of vegetables.

Freshly-made chilli and dip sauces were available to enhance the hotpot experience!

The Flaming Pot promotion is priced at RM100 nett per person with a minimum order for 6 persons. It is available for dinner only, throughout the month of March 2017.
