Welcome a Paws-perous New Year at TAMARIND SPRINGS, AMPANG

If you are contemplating to have some alternative cuisine (besides traditional Chinese food), why not consider Indochinese delicacies? For that, Tamarind Springs is a good choice. Located in the lush tropical rainforest greens in Ampang, Tamarind Springs is a welcoming natural haven, away from noise, traffic and maddening crowd.

Walking down the sloping path towards this eco-friendly restaurant, we already felt the refreshing hugs from Mother Nature enveloping us. It’s certainly a restaurant with lots of breathtaking views all around…

Look! There’s even a swimming pool!

For the coming lunar new year celebrations, Executive Chef Somkuhan Wandee has curated a special menu featuring traditional Indochinese favourites. Even the must-have Yee Sang is comprised of ingredients familiar to her kitchen while still maintaining some Chinese elements. It’s a generous serving with mountains of shredded vegetables, both fresh and deep-fried for that extra crunch.

Crispy Trio Seafood Salad – this is a typical Indochinese salad with lots of tangy and spicy flavours, from ingredients like calamansi, chillies and fish sauce.

Prawn Soyabean Pudding – similar to “cawan mushi”, this delicate savoury pudding was good to the last spoonful!

Chicken Coconut Soup – mild & sweet flavours

Stewed Duck – tender meat in a rich & appetizing sauce

Steamed Seabass with Ginger Sauce

Stirfried Beansprouts with Salted Fish – a tad overcooked as we prefer our beansprouts crunchy

Chinese Egg Noodles – simple and wholesome!

Honeydew with Coconut Milk

Every corner of this sprawling beautiful restaurant makes you just want to sit and chill there forever. The cool forest air whets your appetite further, so don’t be surprised if your meal in Tamarind Springs stretches longer than expected!
